DOUGH BOWL SAFETY
I hand treat the bowl with a NON toxic flame retardant, BUT this does not make a dough bowl fire proof. You must follow proper candle burning etiquette and keep wicks trimmed and do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time, without proper upkeep. Wooden wicks need to be trimmed to an 1/8″ before each burn and may require trimming during a burn if your flame starts to get too high. Keeping your wooden wicks trimmed is essential. Do not leave this unattended. Allow the candle to burn long enough so the melt pool reaches the sides of the bowl to avoid tunneling. (May not reach the edge on the first burn due to the angles of the dough bowl carvings) Keep out of reach of children and pets when lit, and only enjoy on a safe level heat resistant surface. Stop burning when you can see the top part of silver wick clip.
When candle is done, it can be cleaned out and added to your décor. To clean the bowl, pop off the silver wick clips. (They are secured with hot glue.) Melt remaining wax with hairdryer and wipe clean with paper towels. Wash hands thoroughly after coming in contact with fragranced wax.
An empty dough bowl is extremely stunning piece, and can be used with any décor. Use bowl for any décor items. Makes a stunning centerpiece or coffee table display. You can find a lot of dough bowl filler ideas on Pinterest.
